SIL Provider Ringwood | Reliable SIL Support From Team That Knows Ringwood
Many people in Ringwood face a real problem: they need SIL support but worry about finding a provider who understands their area and will match them thoughtfully with housemates instead of just filling a home. They do not know which providers actually have reliable teams in the eastern suburbs or whether their support workers will stay the same.
Hilda Care is a SIL provider in Ringwood where we focus on getting the match right from the start. We know Ringwood, the Maroondah Highway corridor, and what families in the eastern suburbs actually need. Our team is based here. We do not move people into homes carelessly. We listen to what matters to you and build support around that. We are registered with the NDIS (Registration Number: 4050126032).

SIL Homes in Ringwood and the Eastern Suburbs Close By
Some people in Ringwood assume they have to move far away to access SIL or that providers do not have local knowledge of the area. They worry about ending up with support workers who do not know Ringwood or understand how to get around.
We work in Ringwood and the surrounding eastern suburbs. Our team knows the local area, the transport connections, where medical services are, and what the community offers. We have homes available through the eastern suburbs and can work with you on what fits your situation.
Ringwood has good access to the Ringwood Station on the Belgrave line, Maroondah Highway for services, and local medical clinics. Your support team knows these connections.
When Your Support Workers Need to Fit Around Your Current Life
Some people have work schedules, community commitments or family routines that matter to them. They worry that moving into SIL means having to change everything about their life or that support will not fit around what they are already doing.
Your support schedule is built around your actual life, not the other way around. If you work certain hours, we protect those times. If you have regular commitments that matter to you, they stay protected in your routine. Your support workers adjust to your schedule, not you to theirs.
This is how SIL actually works when the provider listens to what you need.

Understanding Your NDIS Plan Before You Commit to SIL
Many people do not understand what their NDIS plan actually funds for SIL. They are confused about what support covers, what they have to pay for themselves, and whether their plan is enough. This confusion stops them from making clear decisions.
Your NDIS plan funds support workers to help you with daily tasks. It covers personal care, meal preparation, medication reminders, household help, transport to appointments and activities, and overnight support depending on your plan.
What your plan does not cover is rent, groceries, utilities, or the house itself. You pay those from your income. Before you start with us, we give you a clear breakdown in writing. What SIL support costs per week and what living costs will be per week. That way you see exactly what you are looking at and can decide whether it works for your situation. For detailed information on how the NDIA decides your SIL eligibility, see our SIL funding eligibility guide.
How Housemate Matching Actually Works in Shared SIL Homes
Some people worry about ending up with housemates they cannot get along with or who do not fit with their routine. They have heard stories of bad matches and do not know how to avoid that.
We match people carefully before anyone moves in. We talk with you about your daily routine, what you like to do, how you spend your time, what you need from the people around you, and what kind of living situation appeals to you. We check that against who is already in the home. If there is a good fit, you meet your potential housemates before deciding to move.
A good match from the start makes a real difference in how well SIL works for you. We do not just fill homes with whoever is available. We think about whether people will actually live well together.

Managing Medical and Health Support While in SIL
Some people have health conditions or medical needs and worry that moving into SIL will complicate getting care. They do not know how appointments, medication, or health support work when they are in a shared home.
Your SIL support includes transport to medical appointments. If you see a GP, need specialists, take regular medication, or have health concerns, your support workers help you manage that. Ringwood has local medical clinics on and around Maroondah Highway. Maroondah Hospital is accessible for more serious needs.
Your support coordinator and us work together on your health plan. Your workers know what to watch for and how to help you stay healthy.
When You Want to Stay Living Independently but Need Daily Help
Some people do not want to share a home but need support with daily tasks. They assume independent living is too expensive or not available. They do not know what their options actually are.
Independent SIL means you rent your own place and support workers come to you at times you need them. You have your privacy and your space. The cost is higher than shared homes because all support hours are yours alone, but if that is what suits you, it is available.
Before you decide, we talk with you about what independent living looks like, what it costs, and whether it fits your situation. Some people start in shared homes and move to independent later. That option exists too.

Checking That Your SIL Provider Has the Right Team for You
Some people do not know what to look for when choosing a SIL provider or what questions to ask. They worry about picking someone unreliable or ending up with a team that does not care.
Look for a provider where the same support workers come to you regularly, not different people every shift. Look for one that actually listens to what you need instead of just telling you what is easiest for them. Look for one that matches housemates carefully if you choose shared living. Look for one that talks regularly with your support coordinator so small problems get fixed before they become big ones.
The difference between good SIL and poor SIL usually comes down to whether the provider puts thought into getting the match right and whether they actually listen to you.
Questions Ringwood Families Ask About SIL
Do you have homes in Ringwood itself or do people have to move to another suburb?
We have SIL homes available through the eastern suburbs close to Ringwood. Depending on what is available and what suits your situation, your home might be in Ringwood or nearby areas. We discuss your preferences with you and work toward what fits.
How quickly can I start SIL once my NDIS plan is confirmed with SIL funding?
Most people start within 14 days of their SIL funding being confirmed. We do not have long waiting lists. Once your funding is ready and we have talked through your needs, we work to get you started quickly.
I have a job in Ringwood. Can I keep working if I move into SIL?
Yes. Your SIL support is built around your work schedule. We protect your work hours in your roster. Transport to work is part of what we provide. You do not have to give up employment to access SIL.
What if I live with my family now and we are not sure whether SIL is right for me?
You can contact us to talk through what SIL involves and whether it might work for your situation. There is no pressure to commit to anything. We answer questions and help you and your family make an informed decision together.
Do the same support workers come to me each time or do they change?
We aim to keep a consistent team supporting you. You do not get a different worker every shift. The same workers help you build trust and understand your needs. When shifts need covering, we use workers who already know you.
What if I need overnight support? How does that work?
Overnight support depends on what your NDIS plan funds. Active night support means a worker stays awake. Sleepover support means a worker sleeps on site but is available if you need them. Some people do not need overnight support at all. Before you move in, we talk through what makes sense for you.
I already have my own place in Ringwood. Can I get SIL support at home instead of moving?
Yes. If you already have a home, SIL support can come to you there. You do not have to move. Support workers come at times that fit your plan. We coordinate with your support coordinator to get your funding ready and arrange for workers to start coming to you.
What if after I move in I find the arrangement is not working?
Contact us. We review what is not working and discuss options with you and your coordinator. If a situation is not right, we explore alternatives with you. You are not stuck with something that is not working.

My experience dealing with this organisation has been very disappointing. They seem unorganised, unprofessional arrogant and downright disrespectful of peoples time.Posted on Google![]()

Hilda Care is outstanding. As a Support Coordinator, I’ve had situations where I needed a Support Worker at the very last minute for my cleints, and they delivered without hesitation. Not once or twice but always. They found the right person within hours and made sure the client felt safe and supported. They have paid heed to client’s feedback and tweaked their services accordingly everytime. Their staff are well trained, reliable, and always go above and beyond to meet client needs. It’s clear they genuinely put clients first. Highly recommended.Posted on Google![]()
