SIL Provider Berwick | Shared Living With 24/7 Support and a Move-In Within 14 Days of Confirmation

SIL provider Berwick participants and families can contact Hilda Care for supported independent living with support around the clock. Most families want to know three things first: what the support includes, what it does not cover, and how soon a home can be ready once it is confirmed. Hilda Care places each participant in a home that suits their needs, whether that is a shared home with housemates or an independent home. Support is available 24/7, and the move-in typically takes around 14 days once a home is confirmed.

How Support Workers Are Matched To Participants In Sil

Support Workers Awake and Available Around the Clock in Your Berwick Home

Many participants need someone close by at night, not only during the day. A fall, a medication question or a bad night can happen when nobody else is awake in the house. Our SIL homes in Berwick provide 24/7 support, so a worker is always available to respond. We offer two overnight options. Active night support means a worker is awake and available through the night. Sleepover support means a worker stays on site and is available if needed. Day support covers personal care, meals, cleaning, shopping and getting out into the community.

Knowing What Your SIL Funding Covers and What You Still Pay For

Many families assume SIL covers the full cost of living at home, and it does not. SIL pays for support: personal care, help with meals, household tasks, shopping support and travel to appointments. Rent, groceries and utilities are not covered, so you pay for those from your own income or other sources. Before you move in, we go through how those costs fit with your SIL funding so there are no surpris

How Housemate Matching Works Before Anyone Moves In

A shared home only works when the people in it get along, and a poor match is hard to undo. Before a place is offered, we talk with you and your support coordinator about your routine, interests and communication needs. We then check those against the people already living in the house. Where it suits everyone, you meet housemates before you decide. Matching is not guaranteed, so we explain the reasons for any match. If you choose an independent home, this step does not apply.

Moving Into a Berwick SIL Home Within 14 Days of Confirmation

Waiting for a home can hold up your plan and your daily life. Once a home is confirmed, the move-in typically takes around 14 days. We confirm your support plan, prepare your room, hand over to your support coordinator and arrange a check-in in your first week.

How Your Roster of Care Sets Out Daily Support

Families and coordinators often need to know who is coming and when. The Roster of Care, prepared by the SIL provider, shows the support workers and times for each part of the week. It is not mandatory, but it is standard practice, and we prepare one for every participant. We review it with you and your coordinator.

A SIL Provider Berwick Families Can Call When Plans Change

A plan that worked last year may not suit this year. When health, goals or work change, the support often needs to change too. Call us, and we review your support, update the Roster of Care and send the changes to your support coordinator. You can reach our team on 1300 440 777 or at info@hildacare.com.au.

Why SIL and SDA Are Paid Separately, and What That Means for You

Many participants are told SIL and SDA are the same thing, and they are not. SIL pays for support, while SDA pays for the housing itself. Each has its own funding, so you can have one, the other, or both in your plan. When both are in place, the support provider delivers support in the home, and the SDA provider is responsible for the property.

Checking Whether SIL Funding Fits Your NDIS Plan

SIL can only start once it is written into your NDIS plan, and it is not always clear whether a plan includes it. Your support coordinator can check your plan with you and tell you whether SIL is funded. Hilda Care is registered with the NDIS, and we can start SIL for Berwick participants once it is in their plan. Learn more about SIL funding eligibility.

Questions Families Ask Before Choosing SIL in Berwick

Does SIL cover rent or groceries?

No. SIL covers support. Rent, groceries and utilities are not included.

Is support available overnight?

Yes. We offer active night support, where a worker is awake and available through the night, and sleepover support, where a worker stays on site and is available if needed. The option that suits you depends on your support needs. [CONFIRM: number of staff on overnight.]

How do I apply for a SIL home in Berwick?

Your support coordinator can make a referral to us, or you can call us on 1300 440 777. We talk through your needs and explain the next steps.

Can I visit a SIL home before accepting a placement?

Yes. Where it suits everyone, you meet current housemates and visit the home before a placement is confirmed.

How many people live in a shared SIL home in Berwick?

Most shared SIL homes have two to four people. The number depends on the property and the support needs of each participant. We do not place more people in a home than the roster can support properly.

Can I bring my own furniture and personal belongings?

Yes. Your room is your space. You can bring furniture, personal items and anything that makes the room feel like home. We can talk through what is already in the room and what you would like to bring before you move in.

What happens if my support needs increase after I move in?

Call us and we review your Roster of Care. If your needs have changed significantly, we work with your support coordinator to update your plan and request a plan review with the NDIA if more funding is needed. Your support does not stop while that process is underway.

Lovely NDIS provider providing support throughout all of Melbourne. I have personally recieved support through Hilda Care for the past 6 months roughly. Their administration is top notch. They have gone above and beyond providing personalised support workers for my needs, have promptly resolved any issues I may have and they always try their best to deliver extra services that may help me with my needs and support. Thank you Hilda Care, you've made my transition into the NDIS as seamless as possible, and I really look forward for the years ahead 😊

My experience dealing with this organisation has been very disappointing. They seem unorganised, unprofessional arrogant and downright disrespectful of peoples time.

Hilda Care is outstanding. As a Support Coordinator, I’ve had situations where I needed a Support Worker at the very last minute for my cleints, and they delivered without hesitation. Not once or twice but always. They found the right person within hours and made sure the client felt safe and supported. They have paid heed to client’s feedback and tweaked their services accordingly everytime. Their staff are well trained, reliable, and always go above and beyond to meet client needs. It’s clear they genuinely put clients first. Highly recommended.

This is one of the most reliable and compassionate disability service providers we’ve worked with. Their communication is clear. The support workers show great understanding and patience, especially during challenging moments. They make everyday routines more enjoyable and less stressful for everyone involved. We feel very lucky to have them on our side.
